Edited sequence from Amadeus to brighten up your day.
Court composer Salieri writes a welcome march for Mozart and humours the Emperor who wants to surprise the young genius by playing the piece for the first time. Mozart makes a vulgar entrance, he thinks little of the tune played and tells Salieri on first meeting that he previously composed some variations on one of his melodies:
“A funny little tune, but it yielded some good things.”
As Mozart leaves, the Emperor tries to pass on Salieri’s gift. The above is what happens.
